Lù earrings

In the ancient Chinese Daoist tradition, there are three stars in the sky that stand for a good life. Fú, Lù and Shòu - three wise men who left the realms of earth and shine in the sky. You can find depictions of the three stars in their human form or as Daoist symbols in almost any Chinese temple, as well as one of many meaningful architectural features in Vietnam.

Fú is the star of happiness and good fortune. Lù stands for wealth and success and Shòu for longevity.

In the centre of these beautiful horn earrings, surrounded by some decorative elements, you see the symbol of Lù. In ancient China, the high income of government officials was considered the ideal form of wealth and success. Therefore a Lù talisman was at first carried to achieve success at examinations for acquiring the status of government official, later on to help with any kind of exam.

If we consider that in ancient European culture, cattle was also a measurement of wealth (mind the first letter of our alphabet started out as Aleph, the cow), cow horn earrings with the symbol of Lù might be a top-notch talisman to achieve success.
